Happy Cinco de Mayo! Today, I thought it would be appropriate to make a list of 5 festive DIY things, whether it’s a craft or food and drinks.
If you’re like me, you might be scrambling to come up with the best Mother’s Day gift ever. Mother’s Day is May 10, meaning we have 5 days until we spoil our mommas. I always find myself in the same position each year, cycling the same questions in my mind. What should I buy for my mom? What should I make my her? Wait, does she want something handmade or from the store??? To save us all the headache, I’ve decided to search the internet for 5 handy, dandy Mother’s Day gift ideas that you may want to consider for your mom.
This craft from the past project was super simple and inexpensive to make. I love taking photos of animals and I wanted to print out my photos and display them in my apartment. Rather than putting my photos in frames, I wanted to place them on a canvas.
I wanted to do an inexpensive DIY project today, and so I decided to decorate a mug. I have seen different ways to decorate ceramic mugs, and one idea I really liked showed a bunch of dots outlining a letter (like this). Instead of using an initial, I wanted to do something cool like an outline of a dinosaur. A few Google searches later, I stumbled upon the perfect silhouette of a tyrannosaurus rex (I found it here).
I have a college kid’s budget, so going to the mall can be kind of heartbreaking when you realize how much money you lack. I don’t get discouraged by this, it just means I have to find really good deals in order to seal the deal with buying something. When I went to Earthbound Trading Company at the Parks Mall a couple of months ago, I definitely didn’t leave empty handed or empty pocketed.
Today’s DIY project was inspired by this pin on Pinterest. My addiction of buying earrings has led me to having a collection of them, which is roughly 35 pairs, 12 stray studs and counting. I needed a better way to keep track of my earrings, so I decided to save my money (more money for the earring fund) and make my own jewelry box for my earrings.
Who doesn’t love great thrift store finds? Today I wanted to write about a thrifty DIY project I created in the past rather than creating a new one.
